About Beaches Pet Therapies

Beaches Pet Therapies has been designed with your pet’s comfort and care at the centre of everything we do.

Coming from a background in veterinary practice, we know that for a lot of pets a regular vet clinic is a stressful environment, no matter how lovely and caring the staff are. That’s why Beaches Pet Therapies has been created as a quiet, comfortable space with no bustle, no cages, no barking.

Located in a quiet cul-de-sac near Curl Curl beach on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, there’s parking at the door. Inside you’ll find a calm, peaceful environment where your dog or cat can relax and get the most out of their treatment.

We welcome pets from all over Sydney, and are especially easy to get to from the Northern Beaches, Mosman and the lower North Shore of Sydney. Many pet insurance policies now cover veterinary acupuncture. Contact your insurer to see how you can claim acupuncture treatment on your pet insurance.

Our acupuncture treatment is aimed at improving your pet’s health, vitality and quality of life.  We want to work with you to help your dog or cat have the very best. If you’d like to involve your vet as well, we’ll happily work with them and update them on your pet’s progress.

And if you need to get some pup-zoomies in before or after your session, there is an off-leash dog park at the end of the street – it doesn’t get much better than that!

Marianne Gould Veterinary Acupuncture

Marianne Gould BVSc, IVAS Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist

Veterinarian and Veterinary Acupuncturist

I first came across veterinary acupuncture when I was on placement as a final year veterinary science student in a clinic where one of the vets also offered acupuncture. An old, arthritic dog was carried into the clinic. Even though he was on medication for arthritis he was having a flare up and it was just too painful for him to walk.  A session of acupuncture and 45 minutes later he got up and walked out of the room. ‘Wow’, I said to myself, ‘I want to do that!’.

Once I was an experienced vet in general practice I trained in veterinary acupuncture and passed the exams to become IVAS (International Veterinary Acupuncture Society) accredited.  I’ve offered acupuncture in different clinics where I’ve worked on the Northern Beaches of Sydney and had some wonderful experiences helping animals with a variety of health issues.

It can be difficult for animals to fully relax in a busy vet practice with all the bustle, noise and smells. And that’s how Beaches Pet Therapies came about – a dedicated space where I can offer only acupuncture care in a calm, quiet environment.

I’m so pleased to be able to offer this service on the Northern Beaches of Sydney where I’ve loved being part of the community for over 20 years.  I share my home here with my partner, as well as a crazy epileptic Kelpie, one very cool cat, two turtles and a few fish as well.  And there is nothing all the tribe like more than when my stepchildren are around to join in the fun too.
